happy belated gobble day

I hope everyone’s thanksgiving was wonderful. I know mine was and I will be posting that in the future real soon along side with the bacon and beer festival pictures.

Ahh what to post what to post. How about some good happy hour deals? Recently I have been going out to a lot of happy hours…but need to simmer down a bit to help try and save money and also because I need to start cooking more at home. By the time happy hours over… i’m already stuffed from all the food and drinks.

Two places that i will mention are some of the best deals. One because their happy hour is until 9 and the other because their food selection is so good…. esp since its 2.99 per selection.

First place is Brio out in Tyson’s Corner, VA.

Brio Happy Hour Menu

Now they dont have any deals on their drinks…well thats not true but they’re nothing really worth talking about. What is to talk about is there 2.99 tasters menu that goes on during their happy hour. Anything listed above is 2.99

I’ve posted about Brio before and told you how awesome their beef carpaccio was.  Well… its on their taster menu…its smaller but great single serving size.

Beef Carpaccio @ Brio

Tasted so good.

Brio Burger @ Brio

Now if you’re really looking to get your moneys worth, this is it. It’s very filling and the homemade fresh chips are delicious.

Spicy Shrimp & Eggplant @ Brio

This was also another delicious treat. The eggplants were battered and fried and the pepper sauce went well with the shrimp.

Sliced Streak Bruschetta @ Brio

Now for our last appetizer, me and a friend go this bruschetta. I liked it but don’t know if I would get again. Friend loved it but i think what threw me off was that the cheese was overwhelming and the sauce that went with the bruschetta didn’t help it either.

Now for another happy hour thats really good because of their hours at which it ends and the foods pretty good. The place is called Paolo’s in the Reston Town Center. Never really went to the place just because its a “far” walk from the normal spots that we go to. When I mean “far” i mean like the distance of 2 blocks….sad, i know. Normally we get the pesto pizza here which goes well with a beer but we tried some other different dishes.

Penne Arrabiatta with Pepperoni @ Paolo's

A nice pasta dish that has a kick but pretty good. Only problem is….its not really a sharing dish if you go out with other people for happy hour.

Prosciutto and Arugula @ Paolo's

Now this place had a prosciutto and arugula appetizer that is a part of their happy hour appetizer menu. Its salty so it helps to have a drink around but one thing I noticed, they have a similar brown sauce that Brio does for the Bruschetta. However, it doesn’t bother me as much as Brio’s…..its gotta be that cheese….

ok done. more food posts soooonnnnn.. i promisseeeee ahhh!!
